Selena
She was singer performer designer who broke through the barriers of the world of music. She was both an American-Mexican traditional singer who brought together the two realms of music in an unison way. And she delivered amazing Tejano music to an affluent public. The same way there are many who mourn a superstar who died too early, her passing was not a good time and ended an energizing career. In the following years, people were inspired to work even harder to make sure that Selena's accomplishments would not go unnoticed. The death of Selena triggered emotion in Latino society that could be similar in a way to Elvis Presley, and John Lennon. The music of Selena, the singer who was wildly success in Latino Communities across North America touched people young and old. Selena has been called by many as the Latina Madonna, however she is still a great example to follow. Selena's values of family life offstage and her participation with AIDS awareness efforts provide a great example.
