Kim Delaney, an American actress best known as Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she was awarded the Emmy Award. Her roles are All My Children Philly CSI: Miami & Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of an United Auto Workers executive and his wife, who was a domestic worker. Her upbringing was in a home that included four brothers. She envisioned becoming a court reporter during childhood but started modelling while in high school eventually garnering commercials after moving from New York. Her first job as an actor came when she was a young, innocent girl in the soap opera All My Children. Delaney, a young actress from the 1980s has appeared in numerous TV shows and in dramas. She has not had a good or satisfying personal life. The talented actor has been battling alcoholism and she has experienced two divorces. In 2005, she was denied custody of the only child that she had.
